New standard color scheme for RNLAF Gulfstream:

'Koninklijke Luchtmacht' standard

After the KDC-10 T-264 the Royal Netherlands Air Force Gulfstream 4SP has also received the new standard color scheme. The large 'Royal Netherlands Air Force' titels have been replaced by the Dutch variant: 'Koninklijke Luchtmacht'. The large air force logo on the tail has been removed.

When the aircraft initially was delivered to the KLu on 14 March 1996, it was also wearing the Dutch titels.  However, the operations from the Gulfstream appeared to have an international charachter and this caused the aircraft to receive the English text.

Now it seems that the KLu wants to keep its own identity. But to keep foreigners informed about which nation is visiting, they chose for a bilingual solution. Just below the Dutch text a small English translation is placed. In due time all aircraft of the Dutch transport fleet will receive this new standard on the fuselage. The C-130s for instance will receive a new two-tone grey color scheme as well, including the bilingual text.
