 Special Markings at Eindhoven:

60 years 334 squadron and UN operations

In 2004 334 squadron exists 60 years. To celebrate this special event, the squadron fitted KDC-10 T-235 with special markings on the tail. On 10 July 2004 the will be a reunion for both former and active personnel of the squadron.

At the same time they celebrate that the C-130 Hercules is serving in the Netherlands Air Force for ten years now. To grace this, C-130s from several nations have been invited to join the festivities. The event will not be open to the public. More information on this can be found at www.334squadron.nl. On the first of June the squadron did a formation flight with a KDC-10, C-130, G-IV, Fokker 50 and a Fokker 60 accompanied by a PC-7 to capture this unique formation on the picture.

Two Fokker 60 aircraft have been marked with UN colors. One of the aircraft is offered to the UN World Food Program and stationed at  Amman-Marka International Airport in Jordan. Both U-02 and U-04 have 'United Nations Humanitarian Air Service' markings. Every eight weeks the aircraft will be exchanged for maintenance reasons. The crews are tasked with missions into Iraq on behalf of the UN. The first aircraft arrived at the end of January 2004 and the mission will remain until August. It is unclear yet whether the mission will be extended with three months or not. The UN marked aircraft which is at home base Eindhoven is always ready as back up for the one in Amman and will be tasked as less as possible for other missions because of the markings that it is wearing.
